The Bamileke people are an alliance of indigenous peoples of Cameroon. The present seated sculpture represents a ruler of the tribe, also called Fon, Fo or Foeh. The Bamileke aesthetic is characterized by elongated and ornate arms. This sculpture was scanned courtesy of a private collector who acquired the piece in Madrid.
