Snake's head

This model was obtained from a large snake head (90x92x155 cm) found in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. The curbs of some temples were conceived as huge snakes flanking the steps. Their bodies formed the slope and the heads rested on the platform simulating a snake descending from the temple hill. The original comes from a temple in the sacred precinct of Tenochtitlan. The sculpture was photogrammetrized by Artmonite during a trip to Mexico in 2024.
