Feathered serpent

€3,50

This model belongs to a sculpture of a feathered serpent found in Chichén Itzá (Yucatán). More than 12 serpent heads have been found in the same area, in a place called the Venus Platform. This type of sculpture served as altar decoration, with the iconography of the serpent in the Mayan world being associated with water and earth. The original belongs to the Early Postclassic Period (900-1250 AD) and was photogrammetrized by Artmonite at the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City during the summer of 2024.
