Stanetti (Giovanni) – Apollo and Daphne
Free
This model comes from the sculptural ensemble of Apollo and Daphne located in the gardens of the Belvedere Palace in Vienna, created in 1720 by Giovanni Stanetti. The figures are inspired by the Greek myth in which Apollo is struck by Cupid's arrow and falls in love with Daphne, who does not reciprocate his feelings. Daphne, tired of the god's pursuit, will eventually be transformed into a laurel tree through the intervention of her father, Peneus.
