Mike Oldfield – Tubular Bells
Free
This model is based on the cover of the album Tubular Bells, the debut album by British musician Mike Oldfield, released on May 25, 1973 by Virgin Records and recorded between 1971 and 1973 at The Manor (England). The record is composed of two long pieces, one on each side of the original vinyl, and incorporates elements of progressive rock, classical music, folk, and experimental music. Oldfield performed most of the instruments, and the work is almost entirely instrumental, with the exception of a narrated section in which the instruments used are listed. The album reached number one on the UK charts, and part of its music was included in the soundtrack of The Exorcist (1973). The cover, designed by Trevor Key, depicts a distorted metallic tubular bell floating against a cloudy sky, with no text in the original edition—an image that has been preserved, with variations, in later reissues.
