Abras (Joan) – Tramontana

This model was created from the urban sculpture Tramontana, by the Catalan artist Joan Abras (La Bisbal d’Empordà, 1949). The piece depicts a stylized female figure of great verticality, stirred by the wind that lashes her body, forming a powerful allegory of the northeastern wind — the tramontana — and its presence in the Mediterranean landscape. Joan Abras’s sculptural work often focuses on the female form, always synthesizing shapes while maintaining references to reality. It is also worth noting that the artist has a museum open to the public in the town of La Bisbal, Girona, showcasing works of sculpture, painting, ceramics, and design. The original large-scale sculpture is located in Pamplona, in the San Juan neighborhood, and was photogrammetrically captured by Artmonite in the autumn of 2025.
