Peral (Alberto) – Superficie
€4,00
This model is based on the work Superficie by Spanish sculptor and artist Alberto Peral (Santurtzi, Bizkaia, 1966), a prominent figure in contemporary Basque art. His work explores the relationship between the body, space and everyday objects, using simple materials and forms to create sculptures that challenge our perception of what we see. Created in 1993, Superficie is a sculpture made of blue-tinted plaster depicting a human head. However, Peral moves away from traditional portraiture and reduces the figure to its essential forms. The work is part of the Collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country, Artium Museoa, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and is currently among the works selected for the presentation of the collection. It has previously been included in several museum exhibitions, including Catarsis. Rituales de Purificación, Tirar del hilo. Alma de entrañas, Tesoro Público and El desarreglo. The model was photogrammetrically scanned by Artmonite at Artium Museoa, Vitoria-Gasteiz, in 2026.
