Björk – Homogenic

4,00

This model was taken from the cover of the 1997 album Homogenic by Björk. After the stylistic exploration of her previous records, the Icelandic artist chose to fuse orchestral strings with electronic rhythms inspired by techno and trip hop, resulting in an emotionally charged album where vulnerability and strength coexist. The album was produced in collaboration with Mark Bell, placing Björk’s voice at the center of the sound. One of the most iconic elements of the record is its cover, designed by stylist Alexander McQueen and photographed by Nick Knight. The image shows Björk transformed into a kind of geisha, wearing a vibrant-colored kimono, her face appearing almost like a mask, with her hair arranged in symmetrical shapes. Homogenic consolidated Björk as one of the most innovative artists of her generation and established an indivisible visual and sonic identity.
