King Crimson – In the Court of the Crimson King (Full Cover)
€4,00
This model is based on the cover of the album In the Court of the Crimson King (1969), the debut album by King Crimson and one of the most influential works in progressive rock history. Blending rock, jazz, classical music, and experimental passages, the album marked a turning point in the evolution of the genre. Tracks such as 21st Century Schizoid Man, Epitaph, and the title track, The Court of the Crimson King, are renowned for their musical complexity and epic atmosphere. One of the album's most iconic features is its cover artwork, painted by Barry Godber, a young computer programmer and amateur artist who passed away shortly after completing the painting. The illustration depicts a distorted face with wide-open eyes and a mouth frozen in a scream of anguish. It is commonly interpreted as representing the "Schizoid Man," the central character of the album's opening track. However, when the gatefold vinyl is opened, a second, calmer face is revealed, which many identify as the Crimson King, the symbolic figure that gives the album its title.
