Angine de Poitrine – Vol.II

This model is based on the cover of the album Vol.II by the Canadian band Angine de Poitrine. This Quebecois experimental rock duo from Saguenay was formed in 2019, and its members use the pseudonyms Khn de Poitrine (guitar, bass, and looping) and Klek de Poitrine (drums). To date, they remain anonymous. Although the musicians created Angine de Poitrine in 2019, they began performing regularly in 2023. Their costumes and aliases were conceived as a “joke,” as well as a reference to angina pectoris. The band gained recognition through digital releases and appearances at events across Canada. Their debut album, Vol. 1, was released in 2024. In February 2026, the band recorded a live session for the public radio station KEXP in Seattle, United States. This recording went viral, bringing them even greater popularity. The band combines experimental rock with microtonal math rock and performance art, using unusual tuning systems, polyrhythms, among other elements. In their live shows, they wear papier-mâché costumes and masks with large noses (alluding to the proboscis monkey), along with scattered black-and-white spots. Khn de Poitrine plays a hybrid double-neck instrument consisting of a guitar and a bass similar to a Fender Stratocaster, wired separately, each with additional microtonal frets.
